Why shoot in
COLOMBIA?
Colombia is now one of the most attractive audiovisual destinations in Latin America. Its sustained industry growth, robust professional infrastructure, and strong public policy in support of the sector have positioned the country as host to over 200 productions supported by Law 1556 of 2012. These projects have generated over 130,000 direct jobs, demonstrating the industry’s positive impact on the local economy and fostering creative talent.
In addition, Colombian productions have also received support from the Colombia Film Fund (FFC), benefiting more than 32,000 people and strengthening the industry from within.
A COMPETITIVE AND EFFICIENT
INCENTIVE SYSTEM
Colombia offers two types of incentives to attract international productions:
- Transferable Tax Credit (CINA): a transferable tax credit applicable to income tax in Colombia.
- Cash Rebate (FFC): a cash rebate on audiovisual and logistical expenses incurred in the country.
Additionally, Colombia offers a VAT exemption for services used exclusively abroad.
TALENT, COSTS, AND PRODUCTION CAPACITY
Colombia is home to highly skilled professionals across all areas of audiovisual production. The sector has matured technically and logistically, offering competitive costs, adherence to international standards, and a growing ecosystem equipped to host high-level projects.
LOCATIONS THAT DON’T NEED SPECIAL EFFECTS
From jungles, coastlines, and deserts to colonial towns, modern cities, and period settings, Colombia offers extraordinary, diverse, and accessible locations. This is complemented by a rich ethnic and cultural mix, allowing for authentic and visually striking storytelling across a wide range of contexts.
STORIES BORN OR BROUGHT TO LIFE IN COLOMBIA
Thanks to the incentives offered under Law 1556, Colombia is not only a location, it’s a cradle of original stories that have reached global audiences. Series like Eva Lasting, literary adaptations like One Hundred Years of Solitude and Delirium have become a reality thanks to Colombian talent and the backing of platforms like Netflix, Amazon, and other major players that continue to bet on Colombian creators.
Colombia has what it takes to tell local stories with global appeal, while also offering the ideal canvas to bring stories from anywhere in the world to life.
