Colombia at Iberseries & Platino Industria

Markets/Mercados

Compartir en:

The fifth edition of Iberseries & Platino Industria will take place from September 30 to October 3 in Madrid. The Colombian participation will include five projects in the training and co-production sections and 18 in the pitching sessions, along with more than 50 national companies present thanks to the support of ProColombia and CINA resources through the Colombia Film Commission (CFC). The delegation will be accompanied by Silvia Echeverri, Director, and Diego Bustos, Deputy Director of Promotion, representing the CFC, as well as Katalina Tobón, Deputy Director of International Promotion, and Claudia Triana, Director of Proimágenes Colombia.

Iberseries & Platino Industria has become the leading meeting point for platforms, television networks, creators, producers, distributors, buyers, financiers, and other industry stakeholders, as well as organizations involved in tourism, education, and new technologies linked to audiovisual production. In just four editions, it has managed to bring together numerous professionals and experts in an event that combines the experience and long-standing trajectory of leading companies in the film and audiovisual industry working globally in Spanish- and Portuguese-language content.

Thanks to the collaboration between ProColombia and Proimágenes Colombia, this participation aims to highlight the country’s diverse locations, attractive economic incentives, and the value of Colombian stories that are capturing the attention of international audiences and producers. With a country pavilion and a delegation of more than 50 audiovisual companies, Colombia seeks to generate new business opportunities, establish strategic alliances, and consolidate its position as a key destination for international productions.

The Colombian delegation brings together production, post-production, and animation companies that reflect the sector’s diversity and dynamism, including Doinmedia, Jaguar Bite, Diptongo, Lynch Anima, The Yellow House, CMO Studios, Team Toon Studio, and Séptima Films, along with 32 other companies traveling to Madrid with the support of the CINA market call. In addition, other companies will participate with the backing of ProColombia and the Comfama ELPAUER strategy, an initiative that strengthens companies and creators in Antioquia’s music and audiovisual sectors, driving their international growth.

In this 2025 edition, the Colombia Film Commission will reinforce its institutional presence with a series of meetings led by Director Silvia Echeverri and Deputy Director of Promotion Diego Bustos, focused on promoting the country’s advantages as a destination for series production. Key topics will include the promotion of the Transferable Tax Credit (CINA), a crucial tool to attract foreign productions and strengthen local talent. Thanks to this incentive, major titles such as One Hundred Years of Solitude, Delirio, and La Huésped have recently been produced in Colombia.

Aligned with its mission to strengthen the industry, the Commission also promotes the CINA System, which supports the development of new Colombian series. Through this program, projects such as Infierno Grande and Deja de Llorar have received financial support within the framework of the Bogotá Audiovisual Market (BAM), enabling them to finance key development stages such as scriptwriting, research, production bibles, and the preparation of materials for potential partners and co-producers.

Beyond its business presence, Colombia stands out this year with strong participation in training and co-production spaces that foster creative development and the international reach of new content. El Enmaletado by Marienne Corchuelo, Fura by Andrés Tudela, and Suerte de Perros by Andrés White will take part in the Showrunners Training Workshop, an initiative that strengthens the skills needed to create, write, and manage series production. Meanwhile, the feature films Desechable (Spain/Colombia) by Jaibo Films and Nocroma, and Santo Alivio (Colombia/Spain) by Dessu Productions, are part of the Co-Production and Financing Forum, a platform that connects high-level projects with potential partners, investors, and sales agents from Latin America and Europe.

Adding to this presence, eighteen Colombian projects (nine feature films and nine series) will participate in the Pitching Sessions with Platforms and Producers, a strategic space for presenting ideas in various stages of development to producers, buyers, and international investors.

This year’s agenda also highlights several activities centered on Colombia. Among them are the conference “Recreating Macondo: The Production Design of the Series One Hundred Years of Solitude,” which explores how Gabriel García Márquez’s literary universe was brought to the screen in this CINA-supported production, and “Medellín Audiovisual Spring: An Ideal Setting to Produce and Foster Creative Connections,” which presents the Antioquian capital as a prime territory for the development of audiovisual projects.

With its active presence in international industry events such as Iberseries, Colombia reaffirms its position as a competitive and prolific destination for the creation and production of content, backed by its talent, the richness of its stories, and a constantly growing audiovisual ecosystem.
