Description
On Carrea 9 and on the corner with Calle 13, at the northwestern end of Parque La Libertad, stands the majestic Cathedral of Santa Cruz, rector of the Diocese of Socorro and San Gil. Its construction began in 1769, being finished a little more than thirty years later in what corresponds to the temple, basically. Its current towers were erected at the beginning of the 20th century, taking advantage of it to remodel the façade. Its consecration took place in June 1935, with the blessing of Nuncio Paolo Giobbe.
