ESTACION ANTIGUO FERROCARRIL

The station has two perfectly symmetrical floors or levels with three clearly differentiated facades. It features two plain side faces and a front and rear facade oriented toward the main entrance from the main road. There is also a rear facade oriented towards the train platform, all displaying architectural treatments of sober and refined elegance, reminiscent of the Republican Architecture style. The construction exhibits an eclectic style characteristic of its era, evidenced by the use of various classical forms. However, Colombian railway stations are distinguished by their refined, tasteful, sober, and functional designs, featuring lowered arches, decorated facades, intricate details, cement tile floors, windows, openings, and pierced designs to allow for ventilation, all of which are highly functional and serve as a premonition of 20th-century modernism.
