Description
Villeta is known for its production of panela, for its festivities such as the National Panela Beauty Pageant in January and the Departmental Band Festival in August, and for being the town where the Route of the Sun begins. It is also an important tourist center in the department of Cundinamarca due to its climate, ecological trails, waterfalls, spas, panela farms, and hotel infrastructure.
