Cochina envidia. On any given morning, while trying to conceive a child with her husband Leo, Ana learns from the television that María, her lifelong friend, has just won the award for the best book published in Spain. It's an accolade for which any Colombian writer, like the two of them, would be willing to kill. Ana is stunned by the news, tries to ignore her turmoil, but fails, and ends up confessing the unconfessable to the audience: she feels a deep envy; that violence crossing her mind and generating an emotion she struggles to deal with. Thus, in this breaking of the fourth wall, a complicit and intimate relationship begins to weave with the audience, which we will see throughout the series and with each of the characters. Perhaps driven by guilt or in an attempt to fulfill a duty, Ana decides she wants to offer María a celebratory dinner, along with their other two soulmate friends, Flora her own sister and Tina friend since childhood. Ana is passionate about cooking, and María, fond of her preparations, so she knows it's the best gift she can give her.
