From October 20 to 25, the Colombia Film Commission organized a new familiarization trip that brought together representatives from renowned international studios such as Netflix and independent production companies like Annapurna Pictures and Grack Films. The guests visited Bogotá, Medellín, and Cartagena in search of filming locations, partners, and production opportunities, with the goal of learning about the country’s audiovisual infrastructure, strengthening ties with local companies, and exploring the possibilities offered by the CINA and FFC incentives.
Over the course of a week, the guests explored some of Colombia’s most representative filming sites and participated in activities designed to showcase why Colombia is today a consolidated audiovisual destination, ready to host high-level productions with a robust infrastructure, qualified talent, and a service and production chain that competes with the world’s leading audiovisual hubs.
The trip began in Bogotá, with two days of activities where guests learned about the advantages of the CINA and FFC incentives and the city’s opportunities for audiovisual business development, supported by Invest in Bogotá. The agenda included a visit to TIS Studios and a guided tour of the city center and its filming locations, accompanied by the Bogotá Film Commission. During these activities, Credicorp Capital delivered a presentation on the country’s audiovisual sector outlook and business opportunities.
In addition, partners such as the Four Seasons hosted a networking session with companies that have provided production services for international projects. The meeting strengthened connections and generated new opportunities for collaboration. Participating companies included 11:11 Films and TV, 64A FILMS, AG Studios, Cimarrón Cine, CMO Studios, Dynamo, Estudios RCN, Jaguar Bite, Lulofilms, Rhayuela Films, Screen Colombia, Secuoya Studios, Sony Pictures - Teleset, The MediaPro Studio, TIS Studios, and WideAngle Films.
In Medellín, the guests visited Parque Arví and Constelaciones, a community and artistic project located in Manrique Oriental, known for being a filming location for the feature film Un Poeta. The visit, guided by the Medellín Film Commission, provided an overview of the city’s landscape, mobility, and diverse locations that make it an ideal shooting destination. The day also included a networking session. The experience continued in the walled city of Cartagena, where the Cartagena Film Commission accompanied the guests on a tour through the historic center and nearby islands, organized together with Jaguar Bite, followed by a meeting with local partners that marked the closing of the fam trip agenda.
The Colombia Film Commission continues to strengthen the country’s position as a consolidated, diverse, and competitive audiovisual hub. This familiarization trip reaffirms its commitment to promoting Colombia as a filming destination and to building bridges between local talent and the international industry. Through joint efforts with public and private partners, it continues to drive a more robust and globally recognized audiovisual ecosystem.
