On June 13th Prime Video released the official trailer for the new Colombian Amazon Original production, "Los Iniciados", inspired by the books of renowned writer Mario Mendoza.
With a cast that includes Andrés Parra, Juan Pablo Urrego, Jorge Cao, Ana Wills, Francisco Denis, and Patricia Tamayo, each will play characters from Mendoza's literary universe. The film will premiere on July 7, 2023, and will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
This thriller is an AG Studios production written by Nicolás Serrano ("Distrito Salvaje") and Esteban Orozco ("MalaYerba") and directed by Juan Felipe Orozco ("Saluda al diablo de mi parte"). Produced by Rodrigo Guerrero ("Jungle"), and with the special participation of Mario Mendoza as executive producer, the film takes place in the near future, in a city where clean water is scarce and where there is a power struggle for control. The project received approval to obtain the CINA incentive (Certificates of Audiovisual Investment in Colombia), granted by the National Government and administered by Proimágenes Colombia: a tax rebate equivalent to 35% of spending on audiovisual services in the country.
"Los Iniciados" will join thousands of international films and TV shows in Prime Video's catalog, including Colombian Amazon Original productions such as "Cochina Envidia", "Gospel", "Primate", and "A Grito Herido", also beneficiaries of the Certificates of Audiovisual Investment (CINA).
