Description
The municipality is close to two important tourist attractions in the country, both of which are located in Los Nevados National Park: the Cerro Machín volcano and, nearby, in Villa Restrepo, the Nevado del Tolima. This municipality is known as the agricultural pantry of Colombia, and consequently, it forms the basis of its economy, especially due to the rich agricultural production in the Anaime Canyon and its proximity to Ibagué.
