Description
San Gil is a Colombian municipality located in the department of Santander. It is located on the road axis between Bucaramanga and Bogotá, and constitutes the most important urban nucleus in the south of the department of Santander. In 2004 it was designated as the Tourist Capital of the department. Currently, San Gil is developing for tourism as it is the most suitable destination in Colombia for adventure activities around the elements of water, land and air. Nature tourism is the great bet of the country contemplated in the Tourism Sector Plan due to its geographical and climatic characteristics and the vocation of its inhabitants. It also has commercial, urban, educational and industrial development, in addition to the massive influx of visitors for different purposes.
