Baranoa is a typical caostal town of Colombia which borders north with the municipalities of Galapa and Tubará; to the south, with the municipality of Sabanalarga; East with the municipalities of Polonuevo and Malambo and west with the municipalities Juan de Acosta and Usiacurí.
