Description
The Colombian Cardiovascular Foundation (FCV), in Bucaramanga, Santander, is one of the most important medical complexes in the country and one of the most prominent in Latin America. Its two main pillars are the Colombian Cardiovascular Institute (ICV), the first IPS of the institution, and the International Hospital of Colombia (HIC), inaugurated in 2016. Both hospitals are accredited by the Joint Commission International (JCI), a seal that guarantees high standards of certified quality. The Cardiovascular Institute of Colombia has the prestige of being the first Colombian institution to receive this recognition (2009). The medical complex is recognized as the sixth best hospital in Latin America,2 according to AméricaEconomía magazine, for being a benchmark in the implantation of artificial hearts and for having processes that provide security and dignity to patients so that they live the best care experience. The FCV today provides diagnoses and treatments in fields such as neurology, cardiology, digestive health, pulmonology, orthopedics, nephrology and urology. It also has one of the most modern centers for comprehensive cancer care.
