Jorge Mauro Mauad was born in Argentina on October 31, 1972. He is a historian by profession and began his acting career in Mexico in 2004. He studied acting with Lito Cruz between 1995 and 1996 and later continued his studies at the Fernando González school. in Chile and Casa Azul in Mexico. He has participated in various recognized series, both Mexican and Colombian.

In 2020, after writing several scripts, he decided to found his production company Alpataco Films based in Colombia. He debuted as a director with the feature film I Don't Want to Be Without You (2020), which was filmed in a pandemic, and has been awarded at several international festivals such as the Barcelona Indie Filmmakers Festival - BARCIFF, in which he received the award for Best Film, and at the Milan International Film. Festival Awards, for Best Screenplay. He continued his career in direction with A key to the past, filmed in 2023 in Ciudad Juárez, Mexico; which received the award for Best Film at the Stafford Film Festival.

In March 2024, Sin clemencia premieres, a fiction film shot in the eastern Colombian plains, which received the award for Best Fiction Film at the FICPA Pasto International Film Festival and the New York Movie Awards.

Among his acting achievements, he participated in a variety of productions, including La Novicia Rebelde at the Teatro Insurgentes, where he won the Las Lunas del Auditorio Award for Best Musical Work in 2009 in Mexico. Additionally, he participated in Estela de la noche on Decisiones (Unitario) on Telemundo in December 2008 in Mexico. He has also stood out in series such as SeBusca un hombre on TV Azteca in 2007, and in different episodes of Decisiones produced by RTI/Telemundo in Colombia.
