Description
This bridge is a structure that extends over the Morro River. It was built in the 17th century under the orders of the Spanish Colony, with the purpose of constructing the Basilica of Our Lady of Monguí. Through this viaduct, each of the pieces to create the imposing Basilica was transported. Interestingly, it is named after the main element that was used for its construction. "Calicanto" is a type of adhesive made from lime, sand, beef blood, and molasses.
