Until August 30, representatives of the Comisión Fílmica Colombia and 12 companies are participating in Europe’s most important video game trade fair and one of the leading business platforms for the global industry.
Since its creation in 2009, Gamescom has established itself as a major showcase for the launch and promotion of the latest developments in interactive entertainment software and hardware. The event brings together exhibitors from around the world every year and features two main areas: one open to the general public and another exclusively for industry professionals, including developers, publishers, distributors, journalists and other key stakeholders. The event hosts conferences, presentations and business meetings. In its 2026 edition, taking place from August 26 to 30, more than 1,600 exhibitors from 67 countries are participating.
The Comisión Fílmica Colombia’s participation in this market is part of an internationalization strategy aimed at strengthening Colombia’s positioning as a hub for video game development. It also reflects the growing convergence between the audiovisual industry and interactive media, expanding the Commission’s reach into new creative sectors.
Through a networking agenda and strategic meetings, the Commission is promoting Colombian talent, the country’s technical capabilities, available incentive programs and success stories that demonstrate Colombia’s potential to develop video games for international markets and attract new investment to the country.
The delegation includes Diego Bustos, Director of the Comisión Fílmica Colombia, and Angélica Clavijo, Promotion Coordinator, who are holding strategic meetings with investment banking firms, representation agencies and global studios such as Studio Capital Management, Digital Development Management (DDM), Agnitio Capital, Double Black Capital, Amber, Byzantium and Quantum Tech Partners, as well as institutional organizations such as CNC / Game France.
During these sessions, the delegation is gaining first-hand insight into current trends and dynamics in the video game industry across Europe, the United States and Latin America, while also promoting the Audiovisual Investment Certificate (CINA) and evaluating how this incentive aligns with the financing, co-production and development needs of the international market.
Some of the participating Colombian companies are attending through the International Audiovisual Markets Attendance call, through which the Comisión Fílmica Colombia supports participation in strategic markets by providing event accreditation and international transportation for one representative from each selected company.
The participating companies include Blazing Soft, Ashara Studios, Fryos Studios, Maleiwa Studio, DeadMonkey, Ju Studios, Life Is The Game, Forja Studios, Hit Combo! (R-Next), Timba S.A.S., Bacon Group (developers of FIFA Rivals, a video game that benefited from the CINA incentive) and Dreams Enterprises.
